Richard Szafran, of Smithville, Ohio, passed away tragically on November 9, 2020. Rich was born in raised in Philadelphia but found a home in Ohio. Although he had been a resident of Ohio for many years, he never lost his love for Philly. He always enjoyed his Philly pretzels and sports, as well as, visiting with friends and family. His sense of humor will always be remembered, along with his belly laughs.
Rich was many things to many people, but turned a new leaf when he met his fiancé, Connie. He became a beloved part of his community and often volunteered to help run errands or even food shop for his neighbors. He built a life with Connie and found true love with her.
Rich was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta, his father, Joseph, and his sister, Carolyn “Pin”. He is survived by his fiancé, Connie; two children, Ashley Lindenbaum (Scott Lindenbaum) and Jonathan Szafran; his grandchildren Jameson and Bailey; as well as, his siblings Dennis, Pat Joe, Dave and Steve.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, in Huntingdon Valley, on April 24 at 12:15pm
