Reinaldo Victor Peluzzo Jr. (The Big Ragu), 56, Philadelphia, PA, end of watch Sunday October 18, 2020. Ron is survived by his wife, Cathy, his 5 children and 1 granddaughter; Ronnie (Erin), Christopher (Erin & granddaughter Laura Grace), Regina, Marybeth, and Anthony, his parents Frances and Reinaldo Victor Peluzzo Sr., and sister Christina Bogdan (Thom) and their 11 children.
He grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from North Catholic high school in 1982 where he was a member of the ice hockey team. In 1984 Ron enlisted Active Duty in the U.S. Air Force to see the world and was sent to McGuire Air Force Base, NJ only 50 miles from his home. In 1988 he continued his service for the next 28 years in the PA Air National Guard until 2018. In the same year he joined the Air National Guard, Ron also joined the Philadelphia Police Department until he retired in February 2020.
During his time in the Air Force, he was deployed in support of, Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Southern Watch, and Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2005, he mobilized as a guard member in a FEMA support role for hurricane Katrina.
Ron also worked at the Pizza Hut where he met his wife. Ron married Catherine M Vandegrift on April 25, 1987. Throughout their 33 years of marriage they had five children, who he is famous for talking about. Amongst raising his children, Ron started his own business, TBR Computer Service where he helped countless family, friends, and strangers who became friends with their computer needs.
As if Ron wasn’t busy enough, he was also involved in various organizations such as The Custodes Pacis Lodge 2085, Italian American Police Society of New Jersey, and the American Legion. Ron was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, loved to cook and would make his own wine.
