Jean grew up in the Burholme section of Northeast Philadelphia. Her family moved there in a horse drawing wagon because as she liked to tell the people "there were no paved roads in the area for a car". Jean loved the water and her family had many houses over the years in New Jersey . She loved going out on her father's boat and any time being at the beach or swimming .Roller skating and horseback riding were 2 of her favorite activities she did with her friends. During World War II she worked at the Frankford arsenal. She eventually became an ammunitions inspector at the arsenal. She met her future husband James Lord when a mutual friend introduced them while roller skating. Between Immanuel Lutheran Church and then at Saint Timothy's Lutheran Church Jean had devoted over 30 years as a Sunday school teacher. Also Jean was involved with many events and fundraisers for both churches and the Rockledge volunteer fire company Ladies auxiliary. Jean will be greatly missed by a large family that includes friends and relatives.
