Obituary

Encarnacion Fernandez Oller Heifort “Connie”, age 80, left us while sleeping peacefully on September 16, 2020, at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington Pennsylvania.  Connie was born September 18, 1940, in Jerez De La Frontera, Spain. Daughter of  Gonzalo and Encarnacion Heifort. Connie married her late husband Russell Howard Heifort USN on June 18, 1961, at U.S. Naval Activity ROTA Spain.

Connie was granted immigration status on October 2nd, 1961 and was permitted to travel as a spouse by the American Consulate General in Seville Spain. As a Spanish national, she proudly received her Naturalization as a United States Citizen on May 1st, 1978 while living in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Connie lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker. Throughout the years she maintained different employment in retail services and notably in the manufacturing sector as a professional seamstress at Burlington Coat Factory. She took great pride in 3 very notable jobs, the coat factory, managing the Keyhole golf course and Albertson's where she made life long friends.

Connie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a Grandmother. She had a feisty personality and wasn’t afraid of anyone. She loved to make people around her laugh and feel welcome with her kind spirit. She made friends everywhere she went, and never had a problem speaking with strangers or calling someone honey. She loved to cook food and enjoyed time in the kitchen. Connie always had a good story to tell. She was skilled with knitting needles and loved to sew. She was an avid gardener and competitive when it came to cards and board games. She loved music and dancing. Connie made her own rules and did things her way. Most of all she loved her entire family.

Connie is survived by several brothers and sisters still living in Spain and the United States. Her children Russell, Micheal, Connie,  Julie and  Bennie. She took extreme pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dustin Heifort, Steven Heifort, Micheal Heifort, Kristine Heifort, Ryan Dougherty, Christopher Bonsness, Joseph Bonsness and Nicolai Bonsness.

A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Flowers in her name can be sent to PowerBack Rehabilitation 3485 Davisville Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.
