Daniel H Ewert age 53 of Philadelphia. Loving son of Martha (nee Hess) and the late Gunter Ewert of Burholme. Loving father of Amber Russell and her husband John. Devon and Ashley Ewert. Grandfather of Jack Daniel. Brother of Stefan Ewert. Dan is also survived by his girlfriend Kathy Fleming and her extended family members.
Dan was always athletic and had a passion for sports. He was a goalie at Danubia Soccer club and enjoyed street hockey with neighborhood friends. Dan was a graduate of Northeast High School in 1985, where he was a member of the Wrestling, Soccer and Track Teams. Dan achieved the Rank of State Champion for his weight class during that year. Some years later he was honored with his name added to the wall of fame at the High School. From an early age, Dan showed his hard work ethic and dedication by working for his father's contracting business during weekends and days off from school.
Dan could have entered college on a scholarship but chose to start working for a neighborhood family friend. Soon after, Dan and his partner Steve started System Tech Security in 1989. Their dedication and persistence paid off, they became successful owners of the locally based Alert One Fire Protection, which recently celebrated 30 years in business. Dan, a forward thinking entrepreneur, also ran a food truck, co-owned the former Bo-Dans Bar, and invested in local property. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and the companionship of his many friends and family. Dan was known by many as a generous and big-hearted man. He made it a point to donate to a worthy cause or help those in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of life and achievements on Wednesday starting 1:30 pm to 5pm at the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein 9130 Academy Road Philadelphia, PA 19114. His family believes that Dan would want all to gather and remember him.
