Conchita Crespo Sulit

Obituary

Conchita Crespo Sulit (Conching) passed away on August 06, 2020 at the age of 76. Ching was the widow of the late Francisco Cayabyab Jr. (Frank/Rudy), and late Edward Green (Uncle Ed). She was the loving and wonderful mother to her eight children, Angelica Beatriz (Helen), Cirilo (Boy), Arturo (Art), Imelda (Baby), Renato (Nato), Francisco III (Kiko), Fernando (Nando) and Michelle (Zhiello).

She will forever be remembered as “Lola” by all of her grandchildren (Apo’s) Christian, Darryl, Camille, Kyla, Cristina, CJ, John Paul, Mariah, RJ, Marielle, Sandra, Princess, Mara, Jimboy, Ashley, LJ, Mykha, Ryah, Nicholas and Daniel and her Great grandchildren, Francis Liam, Cristal, Ace Jay and Lorraine.

She was also a wonderful mother-in-law to all of her daughter and son in laws, Rodolfo (Rudy), Epifania (Panie), Rowena (Wheng), Santos, Emma, Jullieanne, Robert Sr. (Bob) and Darwin (Boyet).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Presentacion and Cirilo and siblings Perlita, Benjamin and Zoila. She is survived by her brother, Cornelio and sisters, Sylvia, Lidovina and Iraida.

Conching or Ching loves to spend most of her time with her family and friends, chatting and laughing with them. She is an active member of the Filipino church ministries and apostolate in Philadelphia, where she resides. She always makes an effort to attend all Filipino masses and functions as much as she’s permitted and loves to contribute food to the church that feeds the mass attendee’s, for that is her way of expressing her love and oneness with the Church and everyone. She recently just came back from the Philippines and stayed there for eight months and indulged most of her time participating in the local church activities and feeding outreach programs, helping those in need, most especially during the early days of the Pandemic outbreak. That’s how we will always remember our Mother, having a “Heart of Gold”. She is always ready to give a helping hand to family and friends and does not mind going out of her way to do so.

We wish that we had more time, and perhaps that during the time we had we had spent more of it together. We wish that so much of her life had not been lost to her illness, that things could have been different for her, and for us. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and I ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with me and with one another.

Relatives and friends from the Philippines and in  the U.S. are invited to join the family on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am followed by a memorial service mass to celebrate her life and will be held by Rev. Efren V. Esmilla at St. James Roman Catholic Church (8320 Brookside Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027.) The family wishes for it to be a closed casket service. In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover the medical and living expenses to those she survived are greatly appreciated.
