Mary Campbell (nee McDonald) age 85 – of Philadelphia, died peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving children. The daughter of Helen (nee Barrett) and Joseph McDonald, Mary was married to her husband of 56 years, Hugh, and they were parents of Dawn, Hugh, Keith and Peter.
Mary was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. As a high school student, she shouldered the responsibility of caring for and supporting her younger brothers after her father’s passing. Mary grew strong in the Catholic faith and maintained a life-long devotion to our Holy Mother and the Poor Souls. She was well known for her unwavering support of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Gerald, Joseph, Jack and Brian, and her loving husband Hugh.
Mary is survived by her daughter Dawn, her husband Randy and their son Nicholas – all of Monee, IL; and her son Hugh, his wife Chris, and their children Hugh William and Marisa – all of Lakewood, OH; and sons Keith and Peter. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ann O’Dea (nee Campbell), and sister-in-law Margaret McDonald (nee Harkins).
Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday morning, December 14th, at 10:00 am at Presentation B.V.M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA where friends may call from 9:00 am until the time of mass. Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, at 10:30 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA (plan for 10:15 am arrival).
