John “Jack” Cumiskey of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Saturday February 16, 2019 at the age of 73. Jack was born to Marian and Francis Cumiskey on August 6, 1945 in Philadelphia. He later married Margaret “Peg” Miller on March 20, 1971. Jack proudly worked as a Professionally Licensed Land Surveyor at Chilton Engineering for over 35 years. If you have driven on any major highway in the Tri-State Area or flew out of the Philadelphia International Airport, chances are Jack surveyed it. He was also a veteran, serving in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife Peg, Jack is survived by his children Erin, Tara (Jason), and Daniel (Casey), sisters Frances Quillen (James) and Joyce Updyke (William), and brother Dennis Cumiskey (Mary), as well as 5 grandchildren: Colin, Kaitlyn, Kiera, James and Owen, sisters-in-law June (late Pete) and Donna (late Jack) Miller, brothers-in-law Glenn (Colleen) and Gerald (Eleanor) Miller, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Sunday February 24, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at David G. Richardson Funeral Home located at 7450 Oxford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111 and again at 9:30 am on Monday February 25, 2019 at the church prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 25, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Cecilia’s Church located at 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery located at 25 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
