Anita F (Blair) Prouty, age 87 of Huntingdon Valley passed peacefully with her family by her side on February 12 2019 at the home of her daughter Cheryl Blair.
Anita was born on September 27, 1931 in Philadelphia the second child of Max and Anna Fischer. As a child of immigrants she was part of the German speaking congregation of Tabor Lutheran Church and active in sports at the Vereinigung Erzgebirge Club.
Upon graduation from Dobbins Tech in Philadelphia in 1949 she served as an executive assistant for many companies over the years. She also served as an office manager for a company in Chestertown, MD.
Anita was active in community and church activities her entire life. While raising her children with Donald Blair she served as scout leader, Sunday school teacher and was active in leadership in the Home and School Association of Philadelphia.
In later years she served at the polls in Huntingdon Valley and was active member of Huntingdon Valley Women’s Club and Gloria Dei Church.
She is survived by her three children Bonnie Blair Mecaughey (Bill), Scott Blair and Cheryl Blair (Bob Sokoloff); 7 grandchildren Jessica Blair Argentino (Giacomo), Todd Mecaughey (Natalie), Jonathan Blair(Michelle), Allison Mecaughey Benson (Michael), Chelsey Sokoloff, Rebecca Sokoloff, and Max Sokoloff. Great grandmother of Jonathan Argentino, Jane Blair, Ellie Benson and Amelia Blair. Also survived by her niece Linda Weber Wolf.
Anita was predeceased by her husband John Prouty, whom she married in 2002, and a sister Gertrude Weber.
Relatives and friends are to call on Saturday February 16th from 10:30am at Gloria Dei Church 570 Welsh Road Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Services to follow at 11:30 am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to Gloria Dei Church.
